WISH was appointed as the interior designer for the In-Pensioners’ Club at The Royal Hospital Chelsea, an iconic building designed by Sir Christopher Wren, completed in 1692. The refurbishment focused on the bar, restaurant and recreational facilities in the north-west wing which is the social heart of the hospital. The aim was to improve the facilities of the In-Pensioners’ Club by optimising the existing space, making it a more functional, flexible and coherent Private Members’ club. The key to this scheme was preserving the architectural heritage of the building whilst providing a modern and luxury interior with lasting appeal for future residents.
